WSHIMA 2018 Annual Meeting

Come hear Sally Beahan (RHIA, MHA) and Karen Proffitt (MHIIM, RHIA, CHP) present "Patient Matching Algorithms - What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You!" which will explore how the substantive impacts poor patient matching can have on care delivery and HIM operations. This session will delve into the "why's" of the importance for organizations to be able to quantify their patient matching algorithm’s performance and compare the results in an objective manner.  The session will also discuss how algorithm settings can impact positive patient identification. The typical EHR/EMPI algorithm aspects and configurations will be discussed as well as the benefits derived from adjusting to improve overall matching performance.
