Exempla Healthcare consists of 3 hospitals and a network of clinics throughout the Denver metro area. It is a not-for-profit, community based organization sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. Operating 1,176 beds, Exempla is affiliated with Kaiser Permanente.
A series of two MPI data analysis and reconciliation projects were completed for Exempla. The first project completed March 2006. A second project began in August, 2006 and concluded in February 2007. In addition to completing the clean up of their registration system and medical records, JA identified the source for several severe data integrity problems and was able to instruct Exempla staff on how to resolve these issues. Exempla currently uses Meditech for their patient access functions and is implementing Epic for all information systems applications.
A third consulting engagement to assess their patient identity data capture process, the accuracy of their data exchange and integration was completed in July 2007. JA also assisted Exempla in the selection of an EMPI system by creating a detailed EMPI requirements document for use in their RFP process. This assisted Exempla in selecting the EMPI system that best met their needs. JA is currently engaged to complete project management services for their EMPI system implementation.
